  Resettlement & Rehabilitation Cell

           Exclusively for the fulfillment of needs of widows/NOKs of deceased personnel and retired personnel including disabled in rehabilitation and resettlement, a RR cell has been formed under Adm Dte in May 1992.  It also has a grievance redressal cell as integral part which takes care of grievances of all personnel including serving members.  It has enormous responsibilities towards welfare of widows or NOKs of the deceased.  It even acts as interface with RR Cell located at MHA.  The aim of forming this cell is to :

 (a)     help disabled/NOKs of deceased personnel to acquire skills for self dependence.

(b)     help in providing social/financial security to widows/dependents of deceased personnel.

(c)      help in rehabilitation of disabled personnel/widows

(d)     help in finding re-employment  for  Ex-BSF personnel.

(e)      attend to grievances of serving personnel on service and allied matters.   

(f)      find redressal of grievances of widows and wards of deceased personnel.

 For rehabilitation of retired/disabled personnel

  (a)              Finding vacancies for willing personnel to train on vocational courses at reputed institutions.

           (b)     Search suitable employment opportunities for willing personnel.

 For rehabilitation of widows/NOKs of deceased

                                                                                                

(a)              Training willing widows on vocational courses at reputed institutions

(b)             Finding suitable employment opportunities outside the Force.

(c)              Processing the cases for compassionate appointment within the force.

 

(a)              Maintaining liaison with local authorities to help widows/NOKs residing in area.

(b)             Arranging marriages for widows.

Details of vocational training being imparted to widows /wards, disabled and retiring personnel:-

In own organisation

 

BSF Academy Tekanpur

An institute of rehabilitation and resettlement has been established at BSF Academy Tekanpur in the year 1998.  The institute is conducting vocational training for widows/wards in the following disciplines:-

 

(a)              Tailoring Course (Basic)

(b)             Tailoring Course (Advance)

(c)              Home product making course

(d)             Office procedure and Computer Application

(e)              Mushroom Cultivation  Course

(f)               Bee keeping Course

(g)              Garment stitching Course

(h)     Basic Computer Course

(j)      Reorientation programme on Security Module at BSF Academy Tekanpur, under skill development initiative based on MES in VTP registered by DGE&T.  Assessment test of 25 Bn BSF personnel has been carried out by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Tekanpur on 19/20 Sept 08.

Chhawla Camp

(a)     Embroidery and Tailoring Course under the aegis of BWWA through Usha International Ltd.

 

(b)     Scooter Mechanic Course at MT WKSP, Chhawla Camp.

 

(c)      Assessment test of 66 BSF personnel in Security Module at BSF Camp Chhawla, under skill development initiative based on MES in VTP registered by DGE&T, has been carried out by FICCI on 09 Sept 08.

Outside the Organisation

 

          (a)     Vocational training for disabled personnel at QMTI Pune

 

Queen Mary Tech Institute, Pune a private trust conducts vocational training for disabled personnel in following disciplines:-

 

                   (i)      Mech Motor Veh Course

                   (ii)     Computer Operator Cum Programming Asstt

                   (iii)    Electrician Course

                   (iv)    Mech Diesel Course

                   (v)     Cutting / Tailoring Course

                   (vi)    Mech Radio / TV Course

                   (vii)   Fitter Course

                   (viii)  Welder Course

                   (ix)    Stenography

 Presently 11 BSF disabled personnel are undergoing training in various trades.

 

(b)     Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hissar

 

(i)      Vocational training in Modern Farming which includes Mushroom Cultivation, Bee keeping and Precision Farming for BSF personnel was conducted with effect from 12 Feb 08 to 25 Feb 08 for a duration of two weeks and 29 personnel who are retiring within three years have attended the same.

 

(ii)     Vocational training in the field of integrated farming system which includes Precision Farming, Bee Keeping, Mushroom Production, Fish Culture, Piggery and Dairy Farming was conducted with effect from 17 Nov 08 to 06 Dec 08 and 34 personnel who are retiring within three year have attended the same.

 

(iii)    Next training programme is likely to be held in the month of Feb / Mar 2009.
